Verb hermēneuō (to translate) in the Gospels-Acts

(Translation from NRSV with a few modifications for a more literal meaning)


John

1: 42He brought Simon to Jesus, who looked at him and said, "You are Simon son of John. You are to be called Cephas" (which is translated (hermēneuō): Peter).
9: 7saying to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which is translated (hermēneuō): Sent). Then he went and washed and came back able to see.
