Verb sēmainō (to indicate) in the Gospels-Acts

(Translation from NRSV with a few modifications for a more literal meaning)


John

12: 33He said this to indicate (sēmainō) the kind of death he was to die.
18: 32(This was to fulfill what Jesus had said when he indicated (sēmainō) the kind of death he was to die.)
21: 19(He said this to indicate (sēmainō) the kind of death by which he would glorify God.) After this he said to him, "Follow me."

Acts

11: 28One of them named Agabus stood up and indicated (sēmainō) by the Spirit that there would be a severe famine over all the world; and this took place during the reign of Claudius.
25: 27for it seems to me unreasonable to send a prisoner without indicating (sēmainō) the charges against him."
